Orton-Gillingham

Parent Education Opportunity

The Subscriber course is an introduction to the Orton-Gillingham approach.  Participants will have an overview of the Orton-Gillingham approach presented by a Fellow/AOGPE covering: introduction to Orton-Gillingham, characteristics of dyslexia, neurological basis for multisensory teaching, phonology, history, and structure of the English language, and the Orton-Gillingham lesson.  Subscriber members are informed consumers but are not qualified to teach using the Orton-Gillingham approach.  A Subscriber member has completed a course of at least ten hours duration based on the Academy’s required curriculum at the Subscriber level.


The 2010-2011 Subscriber course occurs on the following Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30pm at Swift School.

March 15

April 19

The Subscriber course is $100 and includes Subscriber level membership to the Academy of Orton-Gillingham
Practitioners and Educators.
